(Belated) Weekend Reads -24
As we close out the year, I want to thank all of the readers who have read my newsletter this year. I started this earlier this year as a pandemic-era project that I hoped would improve my own writing and thinking about investments and life. I’d also like to especially thank the folks who have become paid subscribers. Given the fledgling nature of this publication, I want everyone to be able to read it and share it with friends, so I haven’t restricted most pieces to paid subscribers. I’m looking forward to continuing this project in the new year. If ever there are topics that you would like me to consider, I am more than happy to. Just send me an email or post a comment.
I’ve taken a little break over the holidays, but here are some interesting reads that I have come across in the recent weeks.
I’ve written before about my bitcoin skepticism. This is a good piece on why bitcoin resembles other well known investment scams like Madoff’s ponzi scheme or a classic pump and dump.
This sad story details the struggles of one young woman with student loans. Normally not a remarkable storyline, but most of her debt is the result of her mother taking out student loans in her name to fund her gambling addiction.

If you’re a fan of Narcos, the hit Netflix show, and business/management articles you’ll love this piece.

If you, like me, loved Jurassic Park, this will be of interest to you.
